consolidated acquisitions - G1 Jetfire, Senator Ratbat, MP-12T, Quakewave, CA-12: Last Chance, Martian Manhunter

I have been very busy over the past week and really did not have too much time to post here and update  things. I actually have about 5-6 posts, with photos already prepared and uploaded, but no opportunity to do final edits and to post.

Those will have to wait till after I do this quick "bulk" update of the things I have been picking up.

From left to right:

  • G1 Jetfire, complete and unused (Matsushiro variant) - no doubt, i will write more about this at some point in the future.
  • FansToys FT-03: Quakewave, aka Shockwave
  • Transformers Generations (Japan): Senator Ratbat
  • (top) Tokyo Toy Show exclusive, MP-12T: Tigertrack
  • (bottom) FansProject CA-12: Last Chance, aka Dead End
  • Justice League, New 52: Martian Manhunter - this will join my Justice League figures here.

Except for Jetfire which I bought from eBay (from eBay seller 'The Mint 1980s Toy Store and Museum'), all the above were bought from retail in Hong Kong, even MP-12T.

I have one further thing to add about MP-12T - do yourself a favour and read what Maz has written on the lineage and significance of this piece. It is more than a hollow repaint. After reading what Maz has wrote, I am sure am glad I did not pass this up and potentially have to pay high secondhand market prices.

Maz's brilliantly researched and written article is here - Who is Tigertrack? - Part 1. Be sure to check back for Part 2!

I end with a gratuitous close up shot of Jetfire.

  1. Jetfire was a good choice, I still have my G1 which I had as a kid in surprisingly reasonable condition :)

    1. hiya, thanks for dropping by. Great that you had Jetfire as a kid, it was never available in my country.

  2. I am so loving the Jetfire! Brings back those nostalgic feelings of being a Robotech fan. ^^ And the fact that I want a reissued Milija Jenius and her VF-1 for display purposes now. ^^; No matter... Starting to collect the main Cybertron cast for Beast Wars II.

Also, on the subject of DC Comics, did you hear that the sequel to Man of Steal is going to be a Superman/Batman movie?

    1. hey buddy! I was a Robotech fan as well. But I prefer the Alpha Fighters and was a little partial for the marcross valkyries. I did really like the blue version of the Maximillan VF-1A.

Did not hear its going to be Superman / Batman. Who is going to be Batman?

    2. Nice. Ironically, I used to see Max's VF-1A whenever I was looking for Milia's.

And no clue on Batman yet, as they announced it at SDCC. They have just announced it, and I think they are trying to compete with Avengers 2 in 2015. This has me wonder if 2017 will lead to a Justice League movie or not.

    3. i kind of think DC is too far behind the curve to do a Justice League movie... if they want to do it properly, they will need to work it into various movies right now... and there was no hint of anything at the end of Man of Steel.

  3. All very nice additions. I'm still looking for a good Jetfire for my G1 collection. Also looking forward to hearing what you think about Senator Ratbat.

    1. I really like the Ratbat headsculpt and the colour scheme. Very good homage to the IDW version as well.

Very observant that there is not gun clip. I do have 2 - 3 spare gun clips saved from back in the day, because i know its a part that is often missing.
