Takara Transformers, Fight! Super Robot Life, D-72: Octane MIB (#7 of 36)

This is another piece from the 'giant' lot that I bought awhile back - it's #7 of 36.

The aim was really to get all of Japanese numbering "01" to "49", but because Blitzwing (number '43') and Astrotrain (number '48') are within the numbers, I 'had to' also get Octane, the remaining Decepticon triple-changer.

This is a very minty piece. Absolutely 100% complete and unused, with all paperwork and unused sticker sheet. A stunning specimen.

Close up of paperworks.

  1. Another figure I have never owned! What a lovely specimen you have there. I remember when I was seeing the Takara versions of all these "standard" Transformers G1 figures back in the late 90s and early 00s, every single one was a revelation.

    Congratulations on an excellent pick-up.

    All the best

    1. Thanks man. It's a figure I never owned as a kid as well. To be honest, I think I might have been disappointed in him if I had him as a kid. It's not such a fun toy and the tanker mode and 747 jet mode was probably not very exciting to a little me.

Agree that it's quite the revelation when I got him and played with him for the first time.

    1. He did feature quite prominently in the episode The Ghost of Starscream and a few other episodes around that time, I think.

    2. its a season 3 episode i guess? don't think i've watched it yet.

i do remember the episode when he had trypticon with him, quite a fun one.

pity he is not featured in IDW's current series, will be interesting to see how they would explain the ability of triple changing. we need more triple changers! :)

  3. I had him as a kid, loved the figure, it might have been all the shiny chrome :) Nice pick up

    1. you're right about the shiny chrome - it's one of the reasons why its so difficult to acquire a minty Octane.

  4. I need to re-complete mine as I'm missing the tanker cover. I love the way you have his wings in bot mode! I've never thought about doing that before! I've since changed my configuration with him.
