OKC Part 1 - our new place

After some time,

we've finally made up our minds,
this is the place,
that we wanted to make ours.

Interior layouts are designed by E. Execution by me. The theme is white and blue plus lots of display space for Transformers. Lots of book shelves were also essential and then, the all important Mahjong area.

Here is where we ended up.

Entrance area. Misc shelving. Painting of Decepticon symbol is be E (it's a real oil on canvas painting).

TV area and balcony.

View of swimming pool.

This the the Mahjong area and books area.

Hard Hero statues and graphic novels.

A special place for my Transformers and Batman graphic novels / TPBs

E's books, books and books...

The day after the move. These cartons contain only Transformers.

After they have been unpacked!

This are the shelves on the left.

Will show the Transformers shelves in more detail in subsequent posts.

cheers,

  4. Congrats on the move! Wow! Did you build all those units by yourself? They look custom made! I hope you have finally been able to consolidate everything to one location.

    1. The units are custom built by my contractor to my specs. They are 60cm deep which means they can accommodate Fort Max in base mode. The entire perimeter of the cabinets are lined with strip lighting, and that gives it even illumination (not obvious in the photos but in person, the lighting is near perfect).

Each glass shelf divider piece is also custom and there are 3 depth sizes so that I can put a tall figure like FM behind and have (multiple) adjustable glass pieces in front of him for smaller robots.

All very daunting to plan and execute, haha

  5. Wow it's incredibly spacious considering it's in Hong Kong. Anyway congrats on the new house. Looking forward to seeing more on the shelves (for some reason I am getting vibes of Inn's Point store display).

  6. Seriously... Kenshin, Hunter x Hunter, and Sandman? As George Takei would say - "Oh my!" Truly, a nice collection. :)

Now I need to find you a "Symbiote Suit" Spider-Man, so you can have him displayed by a Megatron (as he was seen in issue 3 of the Marvel Comic series). :)

    1. 2/3 of what you mentioned belongs to E, heehee.
I think the 80s Secret Wars black suit Spiderman would go nicely with a MP-05 for that scene you are contemplating!

  7. Oh wow HD! :O

Your new place is WAY bigger & it's immediately noticeable and it does wonders with the display space; the bookshelves & bust-shelves look really amazing but dude! - The toy shelves! :D

Such an amazing layout and display, both yourself & E must really look forward to coming home after a hard day at the office and who could blame you? :)

I highly approve of the Soundwave shelf too! XD
