Transformers Zone, C-349: Road Fire MIB (Part 1)

Of the 3 Big Powered robots, I like Road Fire the most.

For some reason his size, colour scheme, transformation and even the box proportions appeals very much to me. Road Fire has many intricate stickers that when applied propoerly, has a very regal effect on the toy. Oh, and its motorised too!

Accordingly to TF Wiki, Road Fire is also the rarest of the Big Powered trio to obtain individually (Dai Atlas being the easiest I suspect) - "Road Fire was seemingly a late addition to the line; the first image of him in the Zone catalogue is actually concept art that was significantly different from the final product. Since he was the last toy of Zone, a line put out at a time when interest in Transformers was severely waning in Japan, Road Fire is considerably harder to come across than Dai Atlas or Sonic Bomber, and commands a fair bit more on the secondary market than those two."

A few months back, I bought Road Fire from the same seller from Japan who sold me C-347: Sonic Bomber and got them shipped together. The seller was top notch and C-347 and C-349: Road Fire were in tip top condition. Very happy with that.

C-349: Road Fire

Box = C9, close to C9.5

Toy = C9, stickers very minty with almost no peeling/lifting

Transformers Zone, C-348: Dai Atlas MIB (Part 2)

Before getting to the pictures, I quote Dai Atlas' profile from TF Wiki:

"Dai Atlas (ダイアトラス Dai Atorasu) succeeded Star Saber as Supreme Commander of the Autobot forces. A skilled swordsman, his prowess with a blade is considered almost equal to that of his predecessor. Dai Atlas has sworn to defeat the forces of the new Decepticon Emperor of Destruction, Violen Jiger, and protect the Zodiac at all costs.

Dai Atlas is a Powered Master who can combine with his partners. When combined with Sonic Bomber, they become Sky Powered. When combined with Road Fire, they become Land Powered. And finally, when combined with Sonic Bomber and Road Fire, the three form the massive Big Powered.

His son Speeder accompanies him in battle as his Micromaster partner."

Note to self - despite the profile, Dai Atlas does not come with a blade or sword or any such appendage.

There is this piece of rounded plastic which supposedly is for preventing Dai Atlas' chest from puncturing the box's plastic window. Didn't work so well in this case.

Transformers Zone, C-348: Dai Atlas MIB (Part 1)

I had long wanted to get Big Powered as a giftset. The giftset has proven very elusive and in the interim, I managed to get C-347: Sonic Bomber and C-349: Road Fire in individual boxes, from Japan. As I've said before, my preference is for individual boxes because (to put it in a simple way), each Transformer character is so distinct it deserves to be packaged individually, and, because individual boxes means more prominent box art.

C-348: Dai Atlas was the last of the trio needed to complete Big Powered. I bought this piece from a Oz Former/TFW2005 member and friend, KC. Except for some slight yellowing which I managed to fix with H2O2 and a slightly damaged box, this piece is in very mint condition and the stickers are very minty too.

C-348: Dai Atlas

Box = C6.5, no major tears or rips, but slightly water damaged and warped in some places, plastic window punctured.

Toy = C9.5

Stickers = C9.5

Paperworks = complete, with used sticker sheet

Goodbye Convoy and Goodbye Megatron giftsets

Picked this up at one of my usual shops today, fresh off the boat from Japan - the rare and exclusive "goodbye" giftsets released in conjunction with the 1986/7 release of Transformers: The Movie in Japan. 

Goodbye Convoy giftset - C7.5 box, C7 foam, C7.5 toys, paperworks incomplete.

Goodbye Megatron giftset - C9.5 box, C9.5 foam, C9.5 toys (possibly never transformed), complete paperworks and exclusive poster (this giftset is one piece of tape away from being cashfresh MISB).

C-100: Doublecross MISB

Picked this up at Mong Kok yesterday, during one of my regular sojourns there. I actually only needed the Doublecross gun since I already have a USA box Doublecross MIB, but for the asking price, I thought why not also buy this Japanese gem!
